Environmental policy

Countermine will operate within a framework of sustainable development. By avoiding threats to personal safety and restoring land to its original function, we help to prevent accidents, save lives and salvage means of subsistence for future generations.
The company shall fulfil environmental criteria in accordance with current laws, regulations and decisions of public authorities with a good margin in the countries and areas where we are active.
This policy shall form the basis for the general and detailed targets of our environmental work.
The Management has ultimate responsibility for ensuring compliance with the policy. Each employee is also responsible for acting within the framework of the policy, and thus contributing to a good working environment.

Our working method

Environmental work is based on:

  • Monitoring statutory and other requirements.

  • Encouraging personnel to take environmental responsibility at work through training, information and motivation.
  • Documented procedures for environmental work.
  • Documented division of tasks to prevent environmental tasks being forgotten or left undone.
  • Access to information material on environmental regulations in the workplace.
  • Sorting waste at source and minimising emissions.
  • Minimising use of finite resources and environmentally harmful substances.
  • Prioritising suppliers who work actively on their environmental impact.
  • Cooperation with aid authorities in the field to ensure our contribution to long-term sustainable development in the environmental area.
