ORACLE is a unique demining system. The technology began to be developed in the mid-1990s, financed by EUREKA, the European Research Cooperation Agency. The project received the EU Commission’s "Best Practices in Industrial Innovation Award".

ORACLE is a modified track loader from Caterpillar which, among other things, is reinforced with amour plating to protect the driver and key components. The modified track loader is connected to a self-propelled band-driven power unit. The unit utilises hydraulic technology to operate a demining tool, the active component of which is a rotating cylinder with lifting arms for working the land. The rotating tool exploits a mine’s stationary position in the ground to destroy it before it has the chance to detonate.

ORACLE is one of the most powerful demining systems on the market, and deals with all known types of landmine. Demining involves removing residual explosives and specific residual metals from the ground. The ground can also be cultivated by leaving explosives from destroyed mines in the ground as fertiliser.

ORACLE I, the first version of the demining system, is certified in Croatia to clear 4,000 square metres mined land/hour. In operational tests in favourable ground conditions the machine has demonstrated the capacity to exceed this figure. ORACLE II, a further development of ORACLE I, has even higher capacity.

Development of ORACLE is ongoing. There are plans for a lighter demining system with enhanced ability to clear specific terrain conditions such as narrow and sloping sections of land. We are also looking into complementary technologies to enhance opportunities to clear unexploded ordnance.
